How a seat works
Show the 4 stepsHide the steps
- The consumer asks for help
A consumer on a Wolf claims platform opens the debt and insolvency tab and sees every solution route against published limits.
- Up to three firms are shown
Every seated firm in the consumer's postcode area appears, at most three, or five in Metro catchments, in random order on identical cards. A firm holding several seats appears once, so the consumer sees fewer firms. No firm pays to rank higher.
- The consumer chooses and agrees
The consumer picks one firm, or none, and ticks to share. Health information needs a separate tick. Wolf never chooses.
- Open seats go to the first paid firm
A seat is taken when a firm's build setup is paid. A firm can take one seat or several in any catchment.

Add catchments
Set your own fee. Nothing on this panel forecasts how many consumers choose your firm.
The case may arrive with an asset
Every consumer passport carries the redress identified on that consumer's claims, set out before your firm engages and carried in with the file.
Where the consumer's redress belongs to the arrangement or the estate, the supervisor or trustee decides what happens to it. Wolf takes no fee at the claim stage. Tap an option to see what it does.
Pass it to a panel solicitor
A platform panel law firm pursues the claims on a conditional fee basis with ATE cover. Recoveries go to the arrangement or estate. No Wolf fee.
Nothing is spent by the arrangement. The panel firm carries the cost and the risk under its agreement. The supervisor or trustee instructs, reviews and receives.
Sell it to a funder panel
The office holder sells the claims to a funder on the platform panel for one cash price on completion, paid into the arrangement.
A single sale and assignment, priced by evidence class, paid on completion. No deferred share and nothing further owed either way.
Pursue the claims in house
The firm pursues the claims with its own team from the passport evidence. Finance product claims go through the firm's own or a panel solicitor.
The firm runs the claims as part of administering the arrangement, with time charged in the usual way. Recoveries go to the arrangement or estate.
Offered after appointment, to the office holder only, on identical terms with or without a seat. The platform holds no interest in any outcome. Finance product claims are pursued by solicitors only.

Two distinctions no other route carries
Upstream from a search, with no introducer in between
By the time a consumer searches for debt help, every firm bidding on that search sees them at once. Insolv PI reaches them earlier, inside a claims account they already use, and your firm pays a fixed fee per catchment, never a fee per consumer.
Each consumer can bring redress 12:12
Twelve claim categories across twelve months, one a month. Redress builds on that cycle, is identified per claim, and travels with the passport as a potential asset.

Questions from compliance officers
Every firm holding a seat in the consumer's postcode area is shown, up to three, or five in Metro catchments. A firm holding several seats in the catchment is shown once. Wolf applies no ranking, scoring or matching between those firms, and what a firm pays does not change who is shown.
Firms appear in random order on identical cards, drawn fresh for each consumer. No position is bought and no firm holds a permanent place at the top.
No. Wolf is paid for infrastructure only: the build setup and the monthly fee for each catchment. Nothing Wolf is paid depends on any consumer, referral, appointment or arrangement. Since 2 October 2023 the FCA has banned debt packagers from receiving any commission, fee or other consideration from debt solution providers for referrals. The seat fee model has been reviewed by counsel.
No. The consumer sees every solution route against published limits, listed alphabetically and never ranked, with a signpost to free debt advice on every screen. All advice sits with the licensed practitioner the consumer chooses.
Nothing is shared until the consumer chooses a firm and ticks to agree. Health information needs a separate consent. Wolf deletes passport details 30 days after transfer and keeps the transfer and consent record for 6 years, under an approved data protection impact assessment. Your firm becomes an independent controller on receipt.
Read the consumer privacy noticeThe firm the consumer chooses. Your firm sees only its own passports and figures, and no other seat holder can see them. Licensees hold their own client relationships and retain sole conduct of every matter.
Discover more
The routes that bring consumers onto the platforms, and the regulatory position behind the seat model.
Three routes carry consumers onto the platforms before any of them reaches an IP.
The free Wolf consumer claims platforms
Consumers open a free account to recover money they are owed. The debt and insolvency tab sits inside that account, so the hand raise comes from someone already using the platform, by their own act.
Our Solicitor & CMC Claim Platforms
Millions of consumer accounts run on Wolf infrastructure across solicitor and claims management platforms. Each can carry the debt and insolvency tab to its own consumers.
The 12:12 Claim Passport
Each consumer's passport builds across twelve claim categories. When debt is the real problem, the hand raise carries that record straight to the firm the consumer chooses.
Debt packager ban, from 2 October 2023
Debt packagers may not receive any commission, fee or other consideration from a debt solution provider for referring customers, directly or indirectly.
No IP payments to introducers
The IPA's guidance reads the Insolvency Code of Ethics as a positive obligation: payments by an IP to introducers for referrals are not permissible.
Single route referrals may be advice
The FCA's perimeter guidance warns that passing consumers to a firm offering a limited set of debt solutions could be regulated debt counselling.
Built for that position
A fixed infrastructure fee per catchment, never per consumer. At most three firms, five in Metro, in random order. Every route shown, never ranked, with free advice signposted. Consent on file. Counsel has reviewed the seat fee model.
Sources: FCA policy statement on debt packagers and the ICAS and IPA guidance on the referral fee ban. The mapping of the platform to that position is Wolf assessment.
